Daughter of the Sun

Journal

Friday, August 12, 2005

It's been quite a while since I had an opportunity to write about what's been going on. I've just been an unemployed artist since quitting my job back in June. I went on a few interviews for part-time jobs but nothing panned out so I finally went and signed up with a temp agency. They called me last Friday and sent me on an assignment. The company asked me back this week and I was there all week long. They're located right across the street from Bryant Park, which is nice because I take my laptop to work with me and at lunchtime I go across the street to the park and check my emails and eat my lunch.

I finished another song. I like the way it came out. Just Like You is the name of it. I played it for my friend CSG when she stopped by. She listened to the entire song very quietly and then, when the song was done, she said, "Can you play it again?" And then she sat silently and listened to the whole thing again. She never did say whether or not she liked it but I guess she felt something because she had a very strange expression on her face when she left. I'm on to the next song now. It's called Pride. I wrote it a while ago but kind of forgot about it until I pulled out an old CD the other day and rediscovered it. So I'm doing it over. Hopefully it will be completed by the end of the weekend.

TTT is on the road. He's been gone for over a month already. I don't believe how much I miss him. It's funny how someone can just seep into you and become part of you until when they're gone no place feels like home.

ECB is in Prague until the end of August. The last report I got was of her drinking beer with the locals, enjoying the culture.

I'm thinking of going to Paris in October and then maybe on to Amsterdam. I just know that I don't want to spend another Winter in New York. And I most certainly don't want to spend another Winter in New York alone. Lonely and cold is just too broke down. The good thing about being alone is that I can go anywhere at any time. Maybe after Paris and Amsterdam I'll go to Italy. I had the most delicious chocolate candy ever from Milan. I tried to find it here in New York and couldn't. It's manufactured in Milan. I'll just have to go there and buy lots of it and bring it back with me. In the Spring.

So, that's the plan, if you can call it that at this point. Paris, Amsterdam, Milan and chocolate.

More soon...
