Daughter of the Sun Journal Friday, September 9, 2005 I'm in the middle of painting and reorganizing madness, although I did manage to start two new songs in the midst of the madness. One is called Milk and Coffee and the other is One of These Days. As soon as I have a recorded version, I'll put a clip on the site. I wasn't able to hook up with FGP to have my site done. He had to stay in Paris. I was planning to go to Paris for the Fall and then to Los Angeles for the Winter. Then I decided to go to Los Angeles first and then to Paris. I was going to drive to LA so that I would have my car there. Now that gas prices have gone through the roof, I've canceled the LA road trip for now. So now the plan is to stay in New York and record, record, record for the Winter and then go to Paris for the Spring, which I actually like better because Paris is beautiful in the Spring. Then I'll have the entire Summer to travel through Europe if I want. The temping thing is going great. I wa stressing out yesterday morning because I'd agreed to go in to work today but I have so much work still to do at home that I really didn't want to go in to the office to work. Then it occurred to me that this was the whole reason for temping -- to be able to work when it's convenient for me. So I called the temp agency and told them that I was very sorry but I wouldn't be able to work on Friday. I suggested Monday instead. They called the law firm and sure enough Monday was fine with them. I took a Dreamweaver class last week that taught how to make cascading style sheets. Hopefully I'll have some time next week to try out what I learned. I may just have to redo the site myself or wait until I get to Paris in te Spring and hope that FGP is still there and can do it for me. As a struggling artist, paying somebody is not an option right now. My main focus is to buy a G4 laptop so that I can take it with me when I travel and still be able to create while I'm on the go. So that's what's been going on. More soon...
