Daughter of the Sun Journal Monday, October 24, 2005 Another week is here. I got some good work done this past week. I stayed in most of last week and just focused on music. I didn't even go out to see my favorite band at the moment, Shaka Zulu Overdrive. I'll be putting the new stuff on the site next weekend. One of my neighbors is taking music production classes at City College. He invited me up to check out their recording facility on campus. Quite impressive. Top of the line Macs, state of the art mixing boards, ProTools and Logic and a vast array of microphones to choose from. He said I can record my vocals up there if I want. Of course I want! It's very difficult being the engineer and the singer at the same time. Hard to get into the mood of the song while worrying about levels and extraneous noises. I can't believe even more rain is expected over the next few days. My poor car is already flooded. I thought I had taped up the sun roof well enough but after the last heavy rain, there was even more water on the floor. Time for that publishing deal and a new car. I stayed up late last night watching a horror movie on the Independent Film Channel (IFC). I don't usually go in for horror flicks but this one looked interesting. It's called Ginger Snaps and it's about a teenaged girl who becomes a werewolf. It was surprisingly quite good. After getting off to a shaky start, it wound up holding my interest until the very end. My friend ADW sent this link to me which I found hilarious: http://www.msn.americangreetings.com/view.pd?i=382219626&m=1652&rr=y&sou I'm finishing up two more songs this week and hopefully I'll find some time to start revamping this site. So much to do, so little time. More soon...
