Daughter of the Sun

Some of the things that have been going on with me. Most of the names have been left out to protect the innocent and not piss off the guilty.

It's almost midnight and I'm exhausted. I've been on the go since early this morning. I had an interview at S***e Audio. They're looking for someone to handle their bookings and some administrative work for them on a part-time basis. It's a really cool space to work in. A brownstone in Chelsea on the ground floor, with a lovely view of the beautiful tree lined street out front and the backyard.

The woman who runs the business seems very cool. I fell in love with her two little doggies, even though they barked at me practically the entire time I was there.

I'm in the studio now. TT is working on music. I'm going to crash soon I know but I just wanted to get a little work done before I turned in for the night.

I performed at The DarkLight tonight. Delisco called me on Wednesday and asked me to open for him. I agreed. I planned to pull out some new material tonight but wound up doing the sure shots instead. New audience, so why not. I made some cards on the computer using an Avery template, just to have something to give out with some info on it. I put my photo on them because how many cards have I gotten from people and at the end of the night I haven't a clue who gave them to me. I left home with about 30 cards and only had one left at the end of the night.

It's Halloween weekend and I'm sure things are going to get a little crazy before all is said and done. There was a large group of Japanese people at the club. I think they were supposed to have a private party. They seemed a bit upset because they weren't discriminating at all at the door. As long as you had your five bucks, you could get in, which was fine with me because there's nothing worse than playing to an empty house. Not the case tonight. The place was packed. In addition to Delisco's fans (about 50 people) and people who wandered in off the street (about 30 people), there were about 75 Japanese dressed in all kinds of crazy Halloween costumes. When they do something, be it karaoke or electronics, they go all out. There were a couple of Japanese guys dressed like pimps, with their Mack suits and hats and long white fur coats down the floor and lots of bling. I was sorry I didn't have my digital camera with me.

Miss P is back from her five days traveling with her mystery man. I tried to find out how it went earlier but we played phone tag all day. Guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out what happened.

TT has updated my equipment. I now have a MacG4. A lot more juice than my iBook. I'm redoing and revamping a lot of the stuff I'd previously recorded and SB is coming by on Monday to lay down some killer guitar. I can't wait!

More soon...
